Biography
A tall guy from Teaneck, Peter Wade is an acclaimed Grammy winning producer/ composer/ engineer. He has produced and written records for artists including Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Lindsay Lohan, and Natasha Bedingfield, and also develops new talent out of his Manhattan studio.
After earning a degree in civil engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, Peter, under the moniker DJ Wade, embarked on a nationwide tour DJing reggae music with the Skalars, before moving back east to engineer records at Sony Music Studios Manhattan. Three years recording and mixing hits for top artists under the tutelage of music giants Cory Rooney, Tony Maserati and Bruce Swedien inspired Peter to form a production company/label, WonderSound, in order to focus on his own projects (The Yeah, Mr. Sack, Shitake Monkey). He has since produced two albums for The Yeah, and Shitake Monkey's debut album, "Street Beef," was released on Outlook records in April, 2007.
In 2004, Peter teamed up with singer-songwriter Michelle Lynn Bell to form Lynn & Wade LLP. They recently wrote and produced five songs on Jennifer Lopez's album "Brave" (October, 2007), as well as developing a considerable catalogue of their own music, which will culminate in their upcoming debut album, "The Mystery LLP."
In addition to sculpting the sumptuous voice of worldwide pop, Peter can be found collaborating on films, videos and art pieces for WaNa, a production collective he co-founded in 2004, where he provides sound design, music, raw unbridled inspiration and omelettes. Peter is also a dormant graffiti artist (WAE32) whose name decorates rock clubs, DJ bars and a smattering of gas station bathrooms from NYC to LA. He's an Aries and loves tomato soup.
